Lenovo at the Xander Zhou fashion show at London Fashion Week introduced its 15-inch ThinkPad S531 Ultrabook. Most ultrabooks have screen size of 14 inch or smaller but ThinkPad S531 got the biggest screen of them all at 15 inches too big to call it ultraportable. The LCD screen is also designed in a way so that it can move 180 degrees to lay flat.
This latest ultrabook offering from Lenovo sports Intel 3rd generation Core processors, rather than Intel’s latest “Haswell” offerings with up to 10GB of memory and 500GB of storage. As almost all the new laptops come equipped with Windows 8 Operating system and this one isnt any exception either. It also offers a backlit and spill-resistant keyboard with a red trackpoint and an integrated fingerprint reader.
Other features include gesture support for the touchpad, JBL speakers with latest connectivity options such as USB 3.0 port.
Rest aside the big 15 inch screen this Lenovo ultrabook can provide upto nine hours of battery backup all thanks to its its four-cell 62.8 Wh battery. Pretty amazing for a 4 cell battery isnt it. Still the $900 price tag will let down many buyers.
