Intel isn’t targeting the Edison for a specific purpose but says it’s as easy to integrate it with a smartphone, tablets, computer and even baby monitors and coffee cups! The Intel Edison is based on Quark platform and features 22nm dual-core processor clocked at 400MHz. This small chip also integrates Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for enhanced wireless functionality.

Intel is currently showcasing couple of use cases of the Edison through their partners like a Mimo Baby Monitor that can detect baby’s temperature, breathing, motion after attaching to a regular onesie. Another use case is to trigger action on a device like a coffee cup, bottle warmer.
