Asus will usually cost more at the same specifications because they are a designer-manufacturer that puts out a decent product. HP is a re-seller of laptops like Acer, but does a worse job at procurement.
True year after year. In most of their laptops, Acer includes a year of accidental damage coverage.
Your best value in the USA for graphics and CPU power in a 15.6″ is Lenovo Y series ideapad at Lenovo.com with 10% off first order.
In the very low priced laptops, brand means little, but would probably go for Asus or Samsung or cheap out with an Acer.
First you look at specifications for the money, and then factor in brand among similar products.
MSI, Asus are designer-manufacturers
Lenovo Thinkpad has a Japan based design team.
Everything else is made by MSI, Asustek, Compal, Invertec, Wistron, and similar companies in China.
